Smarter People, Smarter Cities, Smarter Governments

Brief

The world’s population is more urbanised than ever. Cities are the future. But with cities around the world struggling with overcrowding and stretched resources, provision of services and facilities is becoming an ever greater issue, as governments look for new ways to engage with their countries’ populations. Technology is coming to the fore, helping governments to smooth the daily lives of the world’s population in a range of ways, and in turn, helping people to engage with their governments. This session looks at the state of play in the world of e-government and smarter cities, taking in examples from countries as diverse as Singapore, Georgia, Brazil, the UK, and the UAE.
