Lt General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, in the beginning of his speech at The Government Summit, honoured students from various UAE colleges and universities that contributed to supporting the UAE’s efforts to achieve excellence.

HH Sheikh Saif said: “HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, recently launched the Smart Government initiative, in which the Ministry of Interior’s share was 399 services. Therefore, we wanted to involve the society in these services. And we indeed did just that in 23 services, 16 of which were able to upgrade to the specifications previously set. As a result, we had four winners.

“Today, we are going to honour the four universities that the winners are affiliated with. They are the Higher Colleges of Technology in Dubai, Sheikh Khalifa University; Higher Colleges of Technology in Al Ain, and Sharjah College.

“A neutral committee has issued its decisions regarding these awards, and I’d like to confirm that these services are presented by the UAE’s students and they not by major consultancies in the country. The services provided by UAE students have in fact surpassed the levels of services given by major specialised companies. “In addition, I’d like to mention in particular the Higher Colleges of Technology in Al Ain on providing a smart initiative that services the special needs category.”
