His Excellency Mohammed Al Gergawi, UAE Minister of Cabinet Affairs has emphasised that governments need to shape the future, rather than waiting for its impacts.

Introducing the 2016 edition of the World Government Summit, Al Gergawi said: “This summit starts under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai who believes in forecasting the future, and getting ready for changes, and questing the coming developments.  These are the basics for governments, as unready governments may waste years and wealth of the next generations.”

He added: “Future is important for all of us, we should cooperate in shaping it, we don’t want to wait for it to come with its challenges.”

Key future topics are being highlighted and discussed by over 3,000 policy makers attending the World Government Summit 2016 being held in Dubai from 8-10th February 2016. For more information and updates on the Summit, follow #WorldGovSummit.
