Basic principles
Al Gergawi said: Since the first summit, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid set the basic objectives of government work, and the role of governments in serving people. These principles were the basis for anticipating, inspiring and abetting future governments. He pointed out that the summit supported the development of exceptional ideas, such as the launch of the Museum of the Future, which foresaw future services and human life in the world of tomorrow. He stressed that organizing the summit’s dialogue from the museum represents the summit’s message in defining the goals of the current decade and the aspirations of the next decade, and anticipating the future of governments for future generations.

Six visions to enhance readiness for the future
Al Gergawi said: The summit presented 6 visions that contributed to enhancing our readiness for the future. The first is inspired by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, that there is nothing impossible in the dictionary of the UAE, and this vision was the first step in launching the future model of future ministries, such as files of advanced technology, tolerance, artificial intelligence, food and water security.
The second was that the economies of the world will change and the economic system of countries will not depend on a single resource. He pointed out that the third vision, represented in forming a new vision for the cities of the future, the human cities that enhance communication between residents, and enable them to balance their work and life, and was inspired by the vision of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, for the city of the future, which he shared over the summit platform. He explained that the fourth vision was based on the speech of His Highness Lieutenant-General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, about the image of the Emirati human being and positive citizenship that makes the UAE society a model for advanced societies and a role model in global forums, and was translated by the launch of the UAE government’s national strategy For behavioral rewards, to promote positive action in society and a sense of collective responsibility.

Al Gergawi added that the sixth vision is based on the importance of coexistence and human brotherhood, whose features were outlined in the speech of His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, about the system of authentic values ​​and ethics for the UAE society, which promotes harmony and coexistence and adopts good neighborliness and coexistence and the UAE initiative in Launching the document of human brotherhood with all peoples.

Enhance plans
Al Gergawi reviewed the fifteen global forums, hosted by the eighth session, to discuss the most important global trends in vital sectors that contribute to strengthening plans to start a new government contract, and to develop policies, strategies and future plans that enhance the readiness and flexibility of governments for the next stage of development.
For the first time this year, the summit launches forums to discuss the most prominent global trends during the current decade, as it hosts the World Digital Assets Forum, which has witnessed significant growth and revolutionized financial transactions, and discusses the next internet world, Web 3.0, in the global metaverse forum, which will become one of the most important global markets. It blends elements of virtual reality and augmented reality technologies that enable individuals to live a new life in an integrated digital world in which they share “everything”.
The summit will also organize the first Arab meeting for young leaders, a platform for the Arab youth gathering to explore future prospects, and the Arab Government Administration Forum, which discusses ways to advance Arab government work and move it to future horizons.
It will host the Cybersecurity Forum in the Aviation Sector, to explore the future of safe, digitally enhanced and cyber-secure aviation, and discuss the future of investment at the Investopia Investment Summit, which provides a platform for launching new ideas.
It also hosts, in partnership with international organizations, forums that bring together the most prominent geniuses in the world to discuss vital sectors and develop ideas and visions for a new future, the most important of which are: the annual gathering of the 100 most important personalities on the “Time” list, and the Forbes 30 Under 30 Forum.
The summit continues to host major forums that constitute a vital axis for global communities and an absolute necessity to discuss their directions, namely: the Climate Change Forum, which focuses on the UAE hosting the 28th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28).
It also hosts forums: global energy, global health, sustainable development goals, government services, women in government, and gender balance, discussing the most important vital sectors, and anticipating the most important future directions.

Mohammed Al Gergawi stressed that the positive impact of the summit was not limited to the UAE, but extended to include many of the challenges that it foresaw through more than 1,100 sessions organized over 7 sessions, in which it hosted experts, decision makers and government officials.

He added that the UAE prepared for the pandemic, with its health system, strengthening medical care, health strategies and technological infrastructure, to top the “Bloomberg Resilience Network” index, and become the best country in cordoning off “Corona” and protecting members of society.
He said that His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, announced from the summit platform, the largest ministerial change of its kind, appointing a minister for climate change to confront the global challenge that affects all societies, so that the UAE will be one of the first countries in facing this challenge, and to develop its proactive strategies in achieving neutrality. He pointed out that the past years have witnessed several developments in the UAE’s strategies and orientations towards clean and renewable energy, and its initiatives to enhance efforts to combat climate change, which constituted a step in enabling the UAE to host the 28th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28). .
He said that the third challenge foreseen by the summit was to enhance cybersecurity, protect digital systems, and develop digital infrastructure for future governments, and that the summit witnessed the announcement of the creation of a ministerial position concerned with advanced technology, and the summit’s dialogues were mainly about appointing the first minister of artificial intelligence in the world. In 2016, she discussed the future of digital currencies, and contributed to defining a system of global opportunities in digital assets, hosting the pioneers of “blockchain” technology. Today, the market value of cryptocurrencies is estimated at $2.5 trillion.

Mohammed Al Gergawi stressed that the current session represents the summit of visions and challenges to foresee a better future, and it is the summit of opportunities to enhance the participation of young people who make up two-thirds of the region’s population in decision-making, and to provide a platform of their own. He said that from the summit, the global inventor and entrepreneur Elon Musk reviewed the first features of metaverse, and the future Internet world, when he said that video games will develop into a complete world in which we live, work and create new ideas for our future, and now the Internet world brings us new opportunities that we must explore, as Metaverse is important because it offers us parallel virtual worlds, with a market capitalization of more than $750 billion by 2026.
He added that the summit began as a platform for exchanging experiences, and it will remain a global forum for distinguished global practices. Through its previous sessions, we hosted governments that were able to enhance their global position and develop their work mechanisms in various vital sectors.

He said: The summit, which will enter a new decade of its journey, sets visions that connect us to the future, and will be the largest gathering of its kind since the beginning of the Corona pandemic, and will constitute an opportunity to study best practices in encircling the pandemic and accelerating comprehensive recovery efforts in all sectors.
He added that the summit message is that the industry of tomorrow begins today, which is why “Expo 2020 Dubai” was chosen to launch the Summit for the Next Decade of Governments, to be the conclusion of the largest gathering of human minds, a summit in which we anticipate the variables of the new decade, through which we develop different visions, and new opportunities to empower future generations.

He pointed out that the summit signed partnerships with more than 80 strategic, knowledge and media partners, and this year it will issue 20 knowledge reports in partnership and cooperation with the most important global research institutions.
