Simon Anholt is founder of the Good Country Party and publisher of the Good Country Index. He continues to work as an independent policy advisor with the Heads of State, Heads of Government and administrations of nations, cities and regions worldwide to develop and implement strategies for their enhanced economic, political and cultural engagement with other countries.

Professor Anholt served as Vice-Chair of the UK Foreign Office’s Public Diplomacy Board, and has advised the governments of more than 50 other countries. Anholt devised the concept of nation brand in 1996 and is the founder and publisher of the annual Anholt-GfK Roper Nation Brands Index and City Brands Index, two major surveys polling over 20,000 people in 25 countries to monitor perceptions of 50 countries and 50 cities.

 

Anholt is founder and Editor Emeritus of the quarterly academic journal, Place Branding and Public Diplomacy. His books include Another One Bites The Grass (2001); Brand New Justice (2003 and 2004); Brand America (2004 and 2009); Competitive Identity: the New Brand Management for Nations, Cities and Regions, (2007); and Places: Image, Identity and Reputation (2010).

 

Professor Anholt has a Master’s Degree from the University of Oxford. He was awarded the Nobels Colloquia Prize for Economics in 2009 and the Prix d'Excellence du Forum Multiculturel pour un Développement Durable (Award for Excellence in Sustainable Development) in 2010. He was appointed Honorary Professor in Political Science by the University of East Anglia in 2013, and is Chairman of the Anholt Institute in Copenhagen.
