Boo-Keun Yoon is the President and CEO of Consumer Electronics at Samsung Electronics. He currently heads Samsung’s Visual Display, Digital Appliances, Printing Solutions and Health & Medical Equipment Business. In addition, he also acts as the company’s Chief Design Officer.

Progressing through a series of leadership roles at Samsung Electronics, Yoon headed Samsung’s Visual Display Business from 2007, seeing its revenue double while maintaining the company’s No. 1 global TV market share for 9 consecutive years. During his leadership, Yoon focused on design and investment in R&D to commercialize market-leading television products such as LED, 3D and Smart TV.

In recognition of his leadership at Visual Display, Yoon was appointed Head of Consumer Electronics in December 2011 to bring fresh perspectives to the Digital Appliances Business. He drove a broad transformation of Digital Appliances’ factories, supply chain as well as product line-ups, improving market presence and responsiveness globally. Such efforts resulted in a No.1 global market share of refrigerators since the end of 2012—a leading position that Samsung maintains today globally. Yoon recently focused on innovating the kitchen with the “Chef Collection”, a premium product line-up that delivers future oriented, high-end design and technology.

Yoon began his career at Samsung Electronics in 1978 as a TV engineer. He became Engineering Manager for Samsung Germany in 1991, supervising product development of Samsung TVs in Europe. He was promoted to Vice President in 1999 and appointed as President in 2009.

Yoon holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Hanyang University, Korea.
