His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive of
Emirates Airline & Group, hopes to see an Emirati become the next President of
Emirates Airline after its current leader, Tim Clark retires.

Tim Clark has been a member of the senior management team since the year
Emirates launched. He became president of the airline in 2003.

Speaking at the 2016 World Government Summit, His Highness said: “Of course I
would always be proud to see an Emirati take the role. I think with the recent
announcement of the UAE government to appoint a Youth Minister… anybody can
get it if they put lot of effort dedication.”

But the job is for someone willing to give it their all, he declared.

“Really, it’s not just about coming to the office for six or eight hours. We work as
military, we are there regardless of time or weekend or holiday,” he said.

Meanwhile, asked about his own successor, Sheikh Ahmed revealed: “His Highness
has always taught us to line up people, staff who will take the leadership. I’m really
proud to say that we have many of the young Emiratis who have been with the
company almost 25 years and they’re really doing so well.

"So I think the company can always take one of them to be head of the airline.”
