HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of HM the King for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs has participated in the World Government Summit which took place virtually under the patronage of HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. HH Shaikh Nasser participated alongside Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, UAE’s Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development.

The Summit attracted a host of leaders and international speakers as well as a pool of experts and specialists in addition to officials representing international organisations and entrepreneurs.

HH Shaikh Nasser spoke during a session entitled “Next Decade Under Youth Leadership”, saying: “The Kingdom of Bahrain and on the directives of HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of the Kingdom of Bahrain has furnished wide space for young people, allowing them to hold senior positions. This reflects Bahrain’s tireless efforts to truly empower young people, which are implemented by HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister who is playing a key role in realising this objective to cement the leading position of the Bahraini young people among Team Bahrain members,”

He further added: “The whole world is facing huge challenges that have been created in the wake of the coronavirus “COVID-19″ pandemic, as a result of which many sectors have been negatively impacted. The most important part of this is to learn the lessons of the challenges imposed by the pandemic in order to create a new start for a better future for the world. This is also significant for all sectors that need now to be compatible with the new developments to be able to overcome the future threats and design a strategy outlined by a clear scientific approach,”

“Whoever monitors the developments linked to the spread of the coronavirus pandemic understands the significant role being played by young people to combat the disease and keep it under control. This is clearly seen in the sectors, where young people are instrumental in overseeing their operations such as education, economy and entrepreneurship.

HH Shaikh Nasser continued, “Young people should identify the region they stand on at the moment after the repercussions imposed by the corona pandemic, and they must begin by charting a course to a bright future. We must define youth priorities as young people represent future leaders and it is their responsibility to overcome the pandemic and work to rearrange the world according to these priorities, basic objectives, search for opportunities amid all these challenges and difficult circumstances, and work to implement promising strategic plans and programmes that contribute to strengthening global economies and creating new projects compatible with the pandemic,”

He pointed out: “We must create diverse and innovative platforms to communicate with young people in a better way in order to formulate the desired future based on placing youth at the forefront because they are the most equipped to change and accomplish. Therefore, it’s very important to support them and make them part of the decision-making circle,”

HH Shaikh Nasser asserted, “It is imperative to invest in young people optimally and stand by them to lead their countries, and support their leadership, creativity and distinction because they will be the main pillar supporting development thanks to the ideas they possess, which are always innovative and compatible with the requirements of the age,”

It’s worth noting that HH Shaikh Nasser shared during his participation many ideas and visions about empowering youth and the importance of instilling a love of knowledge, exploration and creativity in them to revive hope for the future.
