In one of the sessions at the 2019 edition of the World Government Summit, key Rwandan figures discussed their country’s achievements, focusing on the preparations in place to create a sustainable future for the home of the largest rainforest in Africa, also known as one of the safest in the world. Dr. Geraldine Mukeshimana, Minister of Agriculture and Animal Resources, noted that Rwanda has technology-powered ambitious plans for the future of agriculture, one that would preserve livestock. She added that solar energy is utilized in an irrigation system that covers 1,200 hectares. Hategeka expressed that he has a positive outlook onto the future after Rwanda reached the 2-billion-mark worth of foreign direct investment (FDI). Dr. Geraldine agreed adding that Rwanda must develop its knowledge-based economy, private sector and national productivity rates in order to guarantee a green, sustainable and profitable Rwanda for the future generation.
