Dr George MacKerron is Chief Technical Officer (CTO) and co-founder of Psychological Technologies, making apps to understand and improve happiness around the world. He runs the world's largest experience sampling study, Mappiness, investigating subjective wellbeing, environmental quality and more. George is also a Senior Lecturer (approximately: Associate Professor) in Economics at the University of Sussex, UK. His research is in subjective wellbeing and the environment, and he teaches popular courses in Environmental Economics and Behavioural Economics. George gained his PhD at the London School of Economics, and prior degrees from Imperial College London and the University of Cambridge. He is committed to public and policy engagement: he has spoken at TEDx and Talks@Google, and has substantial media experience, including national and international radio and TV.
