H.E. María del Pilar Garrido Gonzalo

National Planning and Economic Policy Deputy Minister. Political Science Degree and Master Degree in Political Science and Democratic Governance by University of Costa Rica. Master Degree in International Development by Dublin University, Ireland. Additionally, has received applied economics and econometrics courses by the Kings College of London. Language proficient in Spanish, English, French, German and Chineese. Mrs. Garrido formerly has been consultant for United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and Barcelona Diputació in subnational participatory planning and human rights tasks. Also has worked as investigator for University of Costa Rica, Foundation for Peace and Democracy (Funpadem) and Liberty Park (Parque de la Libertad) in areas such as social policy, participation, information access, economic and political empowerment for vulnerable populations. Within her main responsibilities as deputy minister she has the coordination for the accession process to the OECD´ Public Governance committee; liaison for the Economic Commission for Latin America (ECLA) regarding Montevideo consensus; foster recuperation process for economic reactivation after Otto Hurricane, as well as Technical Secretary of the Sustainable Development Goals in Costa Rica.
