Maj. Gen. Adnan Olwan joined the Royal Military Academy in 1983 and graduated as Special Forces Lieutenant. During his years of service in the Special Operation Division, his military career has been a challenging combination of command and staff roles so he went through all command positions beginning with SF platoon commander, operation officer for SF company, company commander, 71st CT Btn commander and SF 37 Bde commander. His ability as a commander and his fluent English has enabled him to be selected to participate in United Nations Protection Force (UNPROFOR) on the separation line between Croatia and Serbia. He also participated in the Task Force Eagle 1 in Afghanistan 2001/2002, where he built strong military and strategic relationships with the new Afghani government. Actually, these deployments have required robust leadership and subtle interpersonal skills in highly volatile situations. His depth of experience in working with the UN, NGOs and government let him gain great professional experience. BG Adnan Olwan joined the CT branch in 1987 and spent approximately 14 years in the CT. His career has been greatly enhanced by high profile International courses in USA and Germany, which have enhanced his professional and international understanding. His experience as a staff officer during his Military service have required considerable inter-personal and managerial skills. BG Adnan’s extensive intenational experience, strong leadership and managerial ability are all qualities that let him been selected to be currently the Vice Chairman of the National Center for Security and Crises Management (NCSCM) in July 2017.
