Enhancing the Global Economy for a Growing Population

Brief

According to the latest edition of the United Nation’s World Population Prospects, the world’s population is set to increase to 8.5 billion by 2030, and 10 billion by 2100. The most densely-populated countries will also be the countries relying on economic and technological progress to thrive. With population growth remaining concentrated in a handful of countries, how does the population stress impact the acceleration of our collective development goals? How can the global economy be best designed to anticipate a growing world? During this session, we hear from economists, industry experts, and leaders on the critical need to consider rapid population increases and effects on global economic growth.
