Mounir Bouaziz -VP Commercial/New Business Development South America & Africa -Country Chair Dubai and Northern Emirates Mounir Bouaziz obtained an Engineering degree from the French Grande L’Ecole Arts et Metier and an MBA from Webster University. Mounir has been with the Royal Dutch Shell for over 25 years now, initially in Exploration and Production working in Oman, the Netherlands and Gabon and then moved to Shell Gas and Power, initially in London, overseeing gas businesses in Latin America, and then in the Middle East. Mounir was appointed VP Upstream International MENA in September 2009 and became VP South America and Africa in January 2016. Mounir is originally from Tunisia and is trilingual. He is a member of the Shell Commercial Academy as Commercial Deal Leader and a founding Board Member of (Junior Achievement) INJAZ-UAE.

This panel will discuss the future of the energy sector in light of the changes taking place globally. In particular, the panelists will focus on the following 3 areas of interest: • Planning. Planning for the future of energy is vital and is constantly a focus of governments given the implication on shaping the future of countries and achieving their development plans. • Innovation and Technology. There is no doubt that innovation and technology is very important in shaping the future of energy. Disruptive technologies has an important implication on the diversification of future energy sources and requires close cooperation between the government and the private sector as well as the research and development sector. • Climate Change. Future of energy is closely related to global efforts tackling the climate change. Many governments started to take impact on the climate into considerations in developing their future energy plans.
